Sony F3 vs RED Scarlet
by Timur Civan
A direct comparison between Slog and REDCODE RAW.
Some sample scenes showing the two cameras covering the same scene.
The long and short of it:
The F3 and Slog does have more Dynamic Range and out of the box, more accurate color. The F3 is significantly cleaner, but this is a natural byproduct of a 1080p S35 imager. Bigger pixels.
The RED Scarlet, clearly wins in resolution, even down scaled to 1080p. It just looks crisper. Its color gamut is very accurate as well, but needs a bit more work to make it “perfect”. Its lattitude is quite good, but not quite sLog levels. Based on the 13.5 the F3 has, i would rate the Scarlet around 12.5.
RCX is simply awesome, as it enables you to have so many options and draw those looks directly from the RAW.

Carl Zeiss Lenses – “Stress test”
Uploaded by CarlZeissLenses on Jan 20, 2012
Camera and cine lenses need to operate perfectly in extreme conditions, withstanding everything from scorching heat and bitter cold to sandstorms and severe vibrations. The video shows how Carl Zeiss researchers systematically submit lenses to extreme stresses in order to arrive at findings that can help in future lens design and development.
The video was shot with a Sony NEX-FS100 and Carl Zeiss ZF.2 SLR lenses with an F to E mount adapter.

C300 and Alexa Comparison on Game of Thrones Promo
http://www.hurlbutvisuals.com/blog/2012/04/dueling-canon-c300-and-arri-alexa/
When it comes to using a new Camera like the Canon C300, I don’t do camera tests to see how it performs. I prefer to battle test it on location. When HBO asked me to shoot a promo for their TV series Game of Thrones, it was the a perfect opportunity to see how the C300 compared in an interview setting alongside the benchmark for digital cinema capture: the Arri Alexa. (Note that there is no audio on this piece.)

Wireless HD video made easy
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The new Cube x55, like the original, is a camera-top wireless HD video encoder that connects with HDMI, HD-SDI, or composite cameras. The unit streams via dual-band WiFi, an Ethernet port, or a single 3G/4G USB modem.
The new Cube x55 includes all of the same great features of the original Cube such as a compact aluminum chassis, comprehensive transport protocol support like RTP/RTSP/RTMP/MPEG-TS, and a variety of camera inputs. To bring Cube to the next level, Teradek has added a variety of important new features such as:
OLED
Cube’s new OLED enables users to rapidly change and review the settings of their unit in addition to providing real-time feedback for filenames, recording status, and wireless connectivity. No longer are computers or iPads needed for configuration; every feature is a simple click away.
LI-ION BATTERY
Cube’s built-in Li-ION battery will give users up to 2 hours of runtime, which allows for seamless battery swapping or quick broadcasts. The battery can also be charged from an AC adapter or even a suitable external battery such as an Anton Bauer.
MIMO ACCESS POINT
The new MIMO access point feature greatly improves wireless performance and enables special features such as wireless camera control for devices without a WiFi capability built in, and ensures improved connectivity from an iPad or Android tablets.
AUDIO OUTPUT
Cube now comes with a headphone output for immediate audio monitoring.
MICRO SD
The micro SD slot enables the new Cube to save onboard proxy recordings in real-time. The recorded files will also be automatically synced to your proxy server over WiFi or cellular connections.
MICRO USB
Cube’s micro USB port will charge the new internal battery and will connect with a computer’s USB port for hardwired configuration.
The new Cube also supports dozens of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), including UStream, Justin.tv, Livestream, Youtube Live, and many others. Keep an eye on http://teradek.tumblr.com andhttp://www.teradek.com for more information about the new Cube.
